Summer Home Tour

Hello and welcome to my summer 2020 home tour. And while this is a summer home tour, it’s probably going to read as more of a “Hey, look at all the plants I brought into my house before we went into full-on COVID-19 lockdown.”

If you’re stopping by from Zevy Joy, welcome!

Because it’s summer and our kids are in zero activities (see: COVID-19), our built-in lockers are rather clutter free.

Because I’m a glutton for punishment, I bought another maidenhair fern. Her name is Gwyneth.

Full disclosure: this is a 2019 photo of our DIY dresser turned TV stand. It looks exactly the same right now (minus the succulent– it’s long gone). So I thought, “why go through the trouble of taking another photo?” If you’re curious about the curtains and woven shades, you can read all about them here.

Not much has changed in the dining area besides more plants, and my fiddle leaf fig is reaching beast status. You can see what it looked like two years ago, here. I’m really tempted to prune and propagate it because it’s getting way too tall and now is the best time to do it.

Certified crazy plant lady.

I’ve had this Sansevieria cylindrica for at least two years. I think I’m going to re-pot it soon because I’d like to see it get bigger.

From left to right: peperomia, jade, raven ZZ, sansevieria cylindrica, ficus audrey.

I was inspired to add a croton to the mix after seeing the 35+ year old croton that lives at my mom’s office.

I always struggle with what to put in the middle of our dining table. So for now, a basket with some faux ferns is working for now.

Oh, look. More plants.

I grew up with a ficus in our living room, so when I spotted this one at a plant sale I was all “Yup, you’re coming home with me.” And since ZZ plants are all the rage, I scooped up one too.

Love all the plants in your home and I’m so jealous how your fiddle leaf looks, mine has been struggling 🙁 Love your home and hope you are well.

  2. I love all your new plants – when we finally move into our new house I think I’ll try my green thumb again (so far we only have live snake plants – everything else is real), but I had to get rid of a bunch when we moved in here because our puppy kept trying to eat them all!

  3. Your plants are gorgeous and compliment your home so well! Love your simple summer touches! Beautiful style!

  4. I LOVE all your plants. They look gorgeous. I, too, am a crazy plant lady or becoming one. They really add so much life to a home. Thank you for the beautiful tour!
