Plaid Christmas Mantel
It’s Christmas mantel daaaaayyyyyy! I decided to expand on last year’s plaid Christmas mantel for a few reasons, which I’ll explain.
And I’ve teamed up with 34 other bloggers who are also sharing their mantels. So definitely scroll all the way to the bottom to see all of the festive mantels and check out your favorites. If you’re stopping by from The DIY Mommy, welcome!
One of the main reasons I didn’t completely change the look of the mantel was because I love this Royal Stewart tartan covered canvas I made last year. I felt compelled to bring it out at least one more time. The flocked wreath I bought 5 years ago made another appearance in the center of the canvas.
The main thing I changed this year was the garland. I used the same pine base I’ve been using for the last couple years. But I added in some flocked pine (new), crystallized branches (old), large glittered cranberries (new), and smaller crystallized cranberries (new).
Another reason is because I don’t want to shell out $$$ for new decor every year. I’d rather build on what I have and/or swap things in and out. Because the only new things on the mantel this year are the three different picks I bought.
I still love these red stockings. They’re timeless so I know I’ll be able to use them for years. And in case you’re curious, I hang the stockings with clear command hooks.
