Fall Decorating + $100 Home Goods Gift Card Giveaway

It’s officially fall!  Time to buy a bunch of mums and pumpkins, hang up your “welcome fall” bunting, and drink copious amounts of apple cider slushies.  I’m looking forward to dragging Brad to our favorite orchard this weekend to pick up some mums, gourds, and other goodies so I can start decking out our house for fall.  Brad’s excited too, he’s just not showing his enthusiasm yet.

To help you decorate for fall, my friends at Homes.com are offering a $100 HomeGoods gift card to one lucky reader.  Homes.com is all about creating home moments, which is the theme for their awesome nationwide ad campaign, so they want to help a Two Twenty One reader create a new decor look for fall.

I love the convertible kids’ rooms ideas. I’m due in March and starting to think of nursery ideas. I know I don’t want something that screams “BABY”, I want something that they can grow with. These had some great ideas about the convertible desks. And I loved the ideas of the abcs on the wall.

  2. says

I like the idea of decorating with pops of color. That’s what I ended up doing in my daughter’s nursery because it will be easy to switch out accessories as she grows into her own tastes!

  3. colette says

    Great giveaway!

My favorite idea is the double duty furniture. We live in a tiny (800 sq ft) condo & are always looking for creative (& cool) ways to add storage!

  4. Kara says

My favorite article on home.com was the article “The Best Rental Decor Ideas” http://blog.homes.com/2013/09/the-best-rental-decor-ideas/. My boyfriend and I just moved in together into a new apartment. I am trying to do my best to decorate our new space to fit both our taste but to also not spend a fortune. This article really gives some great ideas to stay within rental limits and to make it feel more like home.

  5. says

I love the idea of furniture doing double duty, we’re in the process of converting our office into and office/guest room and we will definitely need some double duty furniture.

I really loved the tips for renters. We are currently renting after moving to a new state and I am having a very hard time with the blandness of the house. I will definitely be implementing some of those ideas! A $100 Homegoods giftcard could really help me do that!

  7. Martha says

Love the polka dot table cloth…going to have to try and find or make one. Or even just a few pillows on the couch, nice change from the chevron ones.

  14. says

Love the ideas for renters. We aren’t renting but are living in a house that came with the job. So we can do whatever we want but at the same time don’t want to put to much money and effort in a home we know we aren’t staying in. So I loved the one about covering a floor on a budget :)

  15. Kathy E. says

My daughter is renting an adorable historic apartment built in the late 1800’s. It has original plank floors, a marble fireplace, 11 foot ceilings and all is in excellent condition. The only eyesore is the kitchen with its outdated cabinets and white walls. No painting allowed. I’m thinking several of the fabric covered foam boards hung with 3M adhesives would really jazz it up! I love that idea…thanks for sharing the link and the contest!

  16. Adrienne N. says

Im loving the outdoor lighting section! I think the tip about hanging pendants from hooks is pretty cute! thanks for the giveaway!

  19. says

I love adding color to our rental with curtains, pillows, and other small items! We also added a chevron rug to our wood floor and it’s a huge hit with everyone that visits us!! Another good idea for renters is to add a gallery wall, it always makes it feel more like home :)

  20. Jessica says

I am loving the honeycomb patterns and textures… I feel like it is so much easier to work into rooms than chevron (which I also reaaally like, but haven’t been able to make it work in our house). I am dying for a hexagon pendant light for our entry way.

  21. says

We are in the process of selling our home, looking for some more space for our two growing toddlers! I loved Shelly’s article on upscaling cheap furniture and making it your own. When we move back to the east coast (Virginia) we plan to purchase our first home…hopefully a fixer upper….and thus there will be LOTS of DIY opportunities. I LOVED this light fixture on homes.com. Well, I had to go to their youtube page because the pops of color video didn’t match the pictures on the article… however, I LOVE the colored picture frames. I’d love to add another accent color.

  54. Christina says
