Denali Dream Drive and the 2014 HGTV Dream Home (Part Two)
Hey, friends! Today I’m back to share more photos of the 2014 HGTV Dream Home and GMC Denali Dream Drive.
On Tuesday, I shared photos of the 2015 GMC Yukon Denali and the downstairs of the Dream Home.
Let’s dive in to the upstairs, shall we?
The stairs leading to the upstairs are very cool and industrial looking.
If you turn left at the top of the stairs you’ll find the second bedroom. I loved the bed and chandeliers in this room. This bedroom also has an attached full bath.
If you continue down the hall you’ll end up in the media room.
Check out that fun orange sectional.
Aren’t the decorative pieces of wood on the wall so cool? They add nice texture to the room.
I’m slightly in love with the light fixture in the media room.
Down the hall on the other side of the stairs is the children’s bunk room, which features two bunk beds, four flatscreen TVs (one at the foot of each bed), closet, and full bath.
That’s pretty much it for the upstairs. I didn’t get the best photos of the bathrooms because of lighting and spacing issues, but HGTV has some great photos of the entire house, including bathroom photos here.
Here’s all of the bloggers who participated in the Denali Dream Drive.
Dan, Brittany, Liz, Odette, me, Jeff, Larry (Yukon Marketing Manager and fellow Indiana University alum), Rene, Rhoda, Dawgelene
After spending a couple hours in the HGTV Dream Home, we hopped into our GMC Denalis (I drove the stylish Terrain) and headed to a late lunch in historic Truckee, California.
After browsing a couple local shops, it was time to head back toward Lake Tahoe to take some sunset photos. Let me tell you, the sunsets in Lake Tahoe do.not.disappoint. I’m going to post my photos chronologically so you can see all the amazing colors in one sunset. This wasn’t multiple sunsets– it’s the same sunset on the same day. Just so we’re clear.
We started taking photos in a park. At first the colors were kind of muted and monochromatic. Still, it was pretty.
Then things started to pick up a little more.
I was with Brittany and Liz, and three of us decided at this point it was pretty gorgeous and decided to hit the road and back toward the hotel to get ready for dinner.
As Brittany was driving us back, I looked out the window and saw the sky turning pink, purple, and blue. I rolled down my window and started taking photos with my phone as we drove down the highway (which explains the blurriness). I couldn’t get over how gorgeous the sky– it looked like cotton candy.
We ended up stopping at a park near our hotel to get more photos because this sunset clearly wasn’t over yet.
This is how the sunset ended. Absolutely breathtaking. It looks like the sky is on fire.
Like I said before, this was an amazing trip, and I’m so honored GMC asked me to participate. I had an incredible time seeing the sights, driving the Denalis, touring the Dream Home, and getting to know the other bloggers and the wonderful people from GMC.
Remember, you can enter to win the 2014 HGTV Dream Home and 2015 GMC Yukon Denali twice a day until Feb. 14th. If you win, you have to promise to invite me over.
What did you think about the the Denali Dream Drive and HGTV Dream Home?
Have you ever been to Lake Tahoe? Are the sunsets always that beautiful?
Stalk away!
I watched the special yesterday on HGTV. The house is amazing. It’s probably my favorite one they’ve ever done…besides the one year it was only an hour from my house 🙂
Happy New Year!
Hi Chelsea!
What a fun post.. great photos! I’m so happy to have met you and all the other fab bloggers. My house desperately needs ideas and I’m excited to check out your site (already been all over your Instagram, LOL).
Have a happy and healthy New Year!
Rene
The house is so amazing, so many ideas! Probably my favorite house so far! I’m super jealous you got to see the home in person! Hope you have a fabulous New Year!!
That sunset is amazing!! So jealous of your time there! (PS. Those wood things on the walls look awesome but wouldn’t they take forever and be a perfectionist’s nightmare? Did they anyone tell you how they did it?)
i want this house. please tell them to pick me 😉
What an amazing opportunity! I totally spent an afternoon looking at the pictures on the HGTV site and then proceeded to dream about moving in there that night. Dream house, for reals!
I was watching last night and thought of you! I love Tahoe so very much. And usually I’m all “eh” about the dream homes but I could totally move right on into this one.
My aunt and cousins just opened a ranch/bed and breakfast near Tahoe. I can’t wait to go out there and see it in person myself, especially after seeing your gorgeous photos. Looks like a wonderful trip!
That house is amazing! I love the four poster bed in that gorgeous pink color!
I really like the use of bright red stripes to liven up some of the rooms. Also beautiful sunset pictures 🙂 Thanks for sharing again Chelsea!
