I posted a photo of these peppermint pattie brownies on Instagram and Facebook when I made them last Friday afternoon. At the time I didn’t plan on blogging about them but people kept asking for the recipe so I thought, what the heck, I’ll tell everyone the 2 (well, 5, actually) ingredient recipe.
Here’s the super non-complicated way to make these bad boys:
Grab a box of brownie mix (Betty Crocker is my girl) and follow the directions on the box. Grease a muffin pan. Pour the batter in the muffin pan, filling half way. Bake for 18-20 minutes. Baking time will vary depending on the type of muffin tin you use, so when in doubt start out low on the time and check them often with a toothpick (I will not be held responsible for burnt brownies). While baking, unwrap your candies. Remove brownies from oven. Immediately smush York peppermint pattie hearts in the middle of each brownie. Allow them to cool. Pop ’em out of the pan. Done.
The possibilities are endless when it comes to smushing candy in the middle of brownies. While making these peppermint pattie brownies I also made Reese’s peanut butter egg brownies. Drool. Really, if it’s candy and you can shove it in the center of a brownie it’s fair game in my book.
Here’s your handy printable recipe card. Click on the image to download the card.
Think you’ll try these?
Have you tried the complicated technique of smushing candy into the middle of a brownie?
