Neutral Spring Mantel
I don’t really decorate for spring, so I decided to keep it clean this year and create a neutral spring mantel. That way, if I don’t feel compelled to change it, it has potential to become a summer mantel. And heck, probably even a fall mantel.
I’ve yet to kill this donkey’s tail succulent I got last summer. And I wanted to brag about that fact, so I made sure to include it on the mantel. To give it some height, I placed it on top of three very good books. If I’m being completely transparent, I haven’t read Becoming yet but I know it’s very good for obvious reasons.
To the left of the donkey’s tail is a 29″ topiary I got on sale last year. And I most definitely did not pay the price that’s currently listed. The description calls it “majestic” but I don’t really agree with that adjective. Mostly because I don’t see how a faux topiary can be majestic. It’s not like it’s a unicorn.
The wooden bead (from HomeGoods) trend is still going strong. Will we look back at this in 20 years and think “WTF? Wooden beads?” Who knows. But it works for now!
Full fireplace view shot! As you can see, there’s an identical majestic topiary on the opposite side of the neutral spring mantel.
Instead of showcasing another succulent I haven’t killed, I opted to go with one of my brass terrariums filled with faux moss rocks. It’s also stacked on top of books to give it some height. Then I have a cute little geode in front.
See, I told you it was neutral.
Today I’m joined by some of my talented blogging friends who are also sharing their spring mantel (or vignettes) with you. Be sure to see what they are sharing by clinking the links below the images.
