2 c. fresh peaches peeled and sliced 1/4 - 1/2 c. sugar to sweeten peaches 1/2 c. butter softened 1 c. all-purpose flour 1 1/4 teas. baking powder 1/8 teas. salt 1 c. sugar 1 egg 1 teas. vanilla
Peel and cut up the peaches. Place peaches in a greased baking dish. Add sugar to sweeten. Stir and set aside.
Mix together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg and vanilla extract. Blend well.
Add egg and vanilla extract. Blend well. Add dry ingredients. Blend well. Put topping on top of peaches.
Bake for 35-45 minutes or until golden brown on top. Serve warm with or without ice cream.
