Questions For Me and A Question For You

First, thanks so much for all your comments of congratulations in regards to our big news. You guys are the best!

I know that with life-changing news like this, people often have questions. So I thought I’d open the floor to questions you may have for me (e.g. Have you been puking your brains out? Are you selling the naming rights of the baby on eBay? Is this blog going to turn into a mommy blog?, etc.).

Some people started to ask questions on our announcement post so I thought I’d condense everything and let you guys ask away on this post. I’ll follow up with another post and answer your questions.

But I also have a question for you guys. During my yearly reader survey, many of you said you’re basically in the same point of your life as me. I know we may not match up 100%, but I thought it would be fun to find out your current offspring situation.

Please take the one question survey below. You can select more than one response if it applies.

  1. Congratulations!! I am so excited for you!! Babies are life changing, but in such a good way. As for your poll, I have three kids, two girls and a boy. The girls are almost 26 and almost 16 and my littlest just turned 7 in December. So, I checked the last three options in your poll. 🙂 Not planned that way. I don’t know who would plan to have a child every decade. LOL It just happened that way. It is like having three separate families. It has its pros and cons like everything else. I basically started over with all of the baby stuff three times. Talk about expensive. I love babies. And, I love that I have had so much individual, one on one time with each of them. You will have so much fun with your new little one. I hope you have an easy pregnancy and delivery. Congrats, again!!

  2. All these blogger friends having babies is really starting to make my uterus ache! I sat down with Jesse about two months ago and we are putting our nose to the grindstone to get our student loans paid off so we can start trying in about a year!

    1. Ditto, Ashley, on all accounts! I feel exactly the same way! I go though Instagram and bloglovin’ and think I’m seriously ready!

Of course, then some baby will start to have a meltdown in Target and I think, “Eh, maybe a year.”

  3. I have four kids. My oldest is my step daughter, she is 14. Then comes my son, who is 11. Then my daughter, she is 9. And then our youngest son, he is 3. I love being a Mom! It is the greatest joy. Congrats again on your pregnancy!
PS. I wouldn’t mind if your blog became a little bit of a mommy blog. I think you have some great ideas and would love to see how you evolve as a parent.

  4. Love the diversity in the poll results! So spill have you had any cravings yet? Where are the pictures of your bump? What did your husband say when you told him?

  5. Currently pregnant and due in August. I was wondering if you’ve been experiencing the joys of round ligament pain yet? I have been having them for a little while now off and on and they’re no fun. Part of me thinks I’m just being a big baby as I have a low pain tolerance so I was wondering how you’re handling the discomfort? Also, cravings? I had a dream about subway and five guys. Woke up and told my hubby five guys was closed but subway should be open soon if it isn’t already. This was at like 7am, lol. He looked at me like I was crazy but I ate a foot long toasted sub for dinner that day. A FOOT LONG?! Me. A foot long. Yep. I did it and couldn’t believe it. Will you do bump updates? Congrats again <3

  6. Jude Unnone says:

Is this your first child? Have you been feeling well? Do you strictly work from home? I’m a new follower and I love, love, love your site so I’m sorry if I should know that from reading. :-). Congrats again! I have four kids – one grown and three teenagers – oye vey!!! I’ve had two strokes and (not because of the kids – no worries! Haha) and just taking this second chance at life and trying to live happier. :-). So, on that note sending loads of happy thoughts your way – enjoy it all – you are already glowing (that pic w/ the pickles was the best!!!) – Jude. 🙂

  7. Yay I can’t wait to hear more about your pregnancy!! Will you do weekly updates? I know some bloggers do that, and I LOVE reading them, if only to live vicariously through you all. I also cannot wait to see the beautiful nursery you’re sure to create!!!

  8. ooo i love taking polls! hah I’m weird. Congrats on your baby news. I hope it doesn’t turn into a mommy blog, but I am ok with a little bit of mommy blog thrown in…but not ONLY mommy stuff…I hope that’s your plan. 🙂

  9. Super excited for you! I might have skewed your poll results since I am pregnant, have kids 0-4 and 5-11 (the 6, 4, 2 and one on the way age split seems like a lot more in poll form)!

  10. Congratulations! I was hoping you’d jump on the baby bandwagon soon! 🙂 I’d like to know about your plans with regards to work. I have a one-year-old and a three-year-old and work from home, so I’m curious if you plan to continue working from home — and how that will change with a little one. Good luck with everything! xo

  11. Congratulations, again! I have a 4 year-old, 2 1/2 year-old and am due in April with number 3! We have never found out the sex of our babies until they were born. Will you do the same, or are you dying to find out now if it’s a boy or a girl? Any nursery ideas yet? 🙂

  12. Congrats again Chelsea and Brad! How did you know you were preggers? Were you trying or was it a surprise?

  13. Congrats! I have 8 month old twin girls so I always love hearing about other people experiences with pregnancy, babies, and decorating. Personally, it seems like you haven’t done many posts other than sponsored posts or recycled posts for months – maybe it’s because of pregnancy – I miss new stuff about you, your house and your life. Here’s hoping you post more often now, and I think it should always be about what’s going on in your life … And right now that’s baby stuff! Hopefully this means your back.
Questions: are you going to find out the gender? How did you tell hubby? How did you tell friends and family? Nursery ideas? Will you do a theme nursery or just go with whatever moves you? Will you share the name or name ideas?

    1. Thanks, Shawna! Congrats on your twin girls!

To be honest, I laid low in January because I was burnt out from the holiday craziness and being in my first trimester. Most people don’t realize this, but November and December is straight up bananas for bloggers. Decorating our homes, taking photos, editing photos, publishing posts, along with doing all the other Christmas stuff everyone else is busy doing (shopping, traveling, attending parties, hosting parties, etc.). Add a regular day job in there and by the time January comes, I’m SPENT and in need of a little break. Pair that with the first trimester of pregnancy and I was absolutely exhausted. It also didn’t help that the weather here in Indiana has been horrible this winter, making it difficult to get out and buy supplies for projects. Thankfully, I’m starting to get my energy back and the weather is improving (at least I hope it is). And now that the cat is out of the bag I can start doing nursery/baby related projects. Thanks for your understanding!

I missed your questions by the time I wrote my response post. I think the only question I didn’t cover was yours about the name. My baby names have been set in stone for years, but I plan on sharing the name after the nugget is born. 🙂
