How to Make a Floral Headband

When I invested in my Halloween skeleton, Maude, last year, I could tell that she’s not the type of skeleton to be bare bones. Haha, get it? So, I decided to craft her a floral headband. You know, to show off her personality a little more. Annnd for the bright colors to catch the eyes of people passing by. Yes ma’am, that was a skeleton waving at you, not an actual person.

How to make a floral headband

Floral Headband Supplies

elastic band
sheet of felt
silk flowers
hot glue gun + glue
scissors

Make the Actual Headband

Cut the elastic to size. You want it to fit snuggly on the head. Allow for some extra elastic on the ends for where you glue the two ends together.

Could I have done a prettier job? Yes. Does Maude care? No, because she’s dead.

The Floral Portion

Cut the felt into an oval-ish shape.

Arrange the silk flowers how you’d like them, and then glue them into place with the hot glue gun. I glued the smaller orange flower to other flowers so that’s allowed too.

Final Step

Glue the completed flower portion to the elastic band.

If your skeleton is a diva, I recommend gluing the unfortunate-looking end section to the felt so it’s not showing.

Slap the floral headband onto your now fierce skeleton.

Isn’t she a vision?

Now I just have to make a matching floral headband for myself.
