Fall Deck Decor

First, thanks so much for all your sweet comments and messages about the deck and pergola makeover reveal last week. For the reveal, I wanted the focus to be on the deck and pergola and to not let the furnishings take away from the paint and stain. But today I’m sharing how the deck looks with all of our stuff back on it– with some fall touches added in.

If you’re stopping by from A Pretty Life on the fall outdoor tour, welcome! I’m Chelsea and I’ve been sharing my home(s) and life with strangers on the Internet for 9 years. You can tour our current home here and our previous home here. I cover a wide array of topics– home decor, baby and kid, organization, my favorite things, gardening, parties, recipes, and more.

If you’re looking for sources, those are listed at the bottom of the post.

My hens and chicks have stayed on the dining table all summer. Since they have a fall vibe with their green coloring and the orange hue from the terra cotta pots, I decided to mix in some white and green pumpkins. I specifically mixed in a choga choga (green bumpy pumpkin), a Jarrahdale pumpkin, and some blanco and baby boo pumpkins.

I didn’t have to do anything with my succulent hanging baskets because their green, purple, orange, and yellow colors transition perfectly into fall.

The only hint of fall I made to the sitting area of the deck was by placing two baby boo pumpkins on the table and putting one baby boo in the planter that’s on the coffee table.

One of the reasons why I love succulents is their ability to look good from May until October.

I added three pumpkins to my succulent planters in this corner of the deck.

I’m really looking forward to some cooler evenings on the deck with our fire columns.

The mums I bought from Costco in early September were supposed to be purple but they turned a pale pink and now they’re white with a yellow center. No idea what happened there, but it ended up working with everything else.

This mum was also supposed to be purple, but as you can see, the white works just fine.

I it’s only fair to show a couple before and after photos with the deck fully furnished and decorated. So here we go.
