Baby Shower Gift Basket

Putting together a baby shower gift basket can be difficult, especially when you don’t have a registry to go off of. So when I’m putting together a baby gift, I like to stick to more practical items, with a couple fun/cute things thrown in.

Here’s what I included in this gift basket: fitted crib mattress pad, muslin swaddle blankets, hooded towel, Parent’s Choice Baby Wipes, dinosaur slip-on shoes, rubber duckies, and washcloths.

You can never have too many crib mattress pads, especially when you have a sick kiddo. And I love me a muslin swaddle blanket because you can use them so many different ways– for swaddling, as a nursing cover, to cover a car seat, etc. I couldn’t pass up the adorable dinosaur shoes.

Tip: Instead of going from store to store, save time by sticking to a one-stop-shop like Walmart. I got everything for this gift basket at Walmart, which has a wide selection of a baby products available for great prices. And I love their free two-day shipping and free same-day pickup.

I also included some baby essentials— Parent’s Choice Tear Free Wash & Shampoo, moisturizing lotion, baby dish soap, gas relief drops, diaper rash ointment, and gripe water.

When I was a first time mom, I didn’t know much about gas relief drops or gripe water. When we ended up needing them for Owen, I had to send Brad out at 10PM to get them. So I always think it’s a good idea to include those things in a gift basket for new moms. And I’m a big fan of the Parent’s Choice Diaper Rash Ointment.

Instead of tossing everything into a $5 gift bag or using a random $15 basket, I put all the items in something the new parents could use– an inflatable duck tub. It’s adorable and something they can actually use. And when it’s not being used, it can be deflated and easily stored.

Tip: To create a tiered look, put the tallest item in the back, followed by the shortest. Add extra height to the items in the back by crumpling up some packaging or tissue paper and putting it under the items.

One of my favorite baby items to use while traveling is this inflatable duck tub. We bought one for Owen before going on an Alaskan cruise– yes, it fits in those tiny cruise ship shower stalls. There’s also a White Hot safety disc on the bottom of the tub that turns white if the water is too hot for baby.
