My Ideal Kitchen

Last fall we were able to make a huge improvement to our kitchen by having toppers added to extend the cabinets to the ceiling and by having the cabinets refaced. We also classed up the kitchen with under cabinet lighting. But there are still some things I’d like to cross off our list to make the kitchen my ideal kitchen, well, at least for this house.

Check out my pinterest board to see my kitchen inspiration.

Countertops, a backsplash, new overhead lighting, and a new sink are still on our to do list. I’ve always been drawn to the faux marble countertops (I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again– we don’t live in a granite countertop house) and white subway tile backsplashes. I’d also love a white apron sink but I don’t want to have to go through demoing our newly spruced up cabinets. And you all know the current florescent light above our kitchen island is my arch nemesis. So I’d love to add some pretty pendant lights and recessed lights.

In a perfect world without budgets, I’d love to upgrade our appliances– like with some shiny stainless steel top of the line LG appliances.

I also would love to upgrade the flooring. The previous owners used a low quality wood laminate, and after 5 years it’s already chipping and separating in some spots. I’m loving the faux wood ceramic tile I’ve been seeing around blogland lately.
